Innovation@Work The Hartford, 10/9/07 |
On October 9, 2007, The Hartford hosted a full-day program in which 21 companies presented their technology to senior Hartford IT executives. During the program, called Innovation@Work, the 21 companies, primarily software companies, pitched their technology solutions in response to an RFP the Hartford prepared this summer.
The 21 companies were part of a group of over 100 companies who responded to the RFP in the hopes of getting an opportunity to meet with The Hartford. Senior IT professionals then trimmed the list to 21 in keeping with their IT priorities and the unique solutions offered by the selected 21.
The Innovation@Work program is a three year old program of the Connecticut Technology Council, which matches local and regional technology companies with large, host companies who are looking for a creative method to source their technology partners. This reverse trade show format, which the Innovation@Work program represents, meets that objective. For the smaller and sometimes emerging technology companies who are presenting, this is a business development dream. A secondary benefit for presenting companies is the opportunity to meet competitors with whom they might collaborate or partner.
The Council has organized seven Innovation@Work programs over the last three years at such Connecticut companies as General Electric, Pitney Bowes Gerber Scientific, and Mohegan Sun.
Presenting companies for the October 9, 2007 Innovation@Work program were primarily from the northeast. Below is the list of presenting technology companies:
Some of these companies will be invited back to meet with The Hartford and to discuss possible contracts in the future to provide services and products.
Innovation@Work is underwritten by the law firm of Wiggin and Dana and the investment banking firm of Cronus Partners.
Below is a brief description of each company and a picture of the principal who presented to The Hartford staff.
