Voluntary Benefits

The Connecticut Technology Council's voluntary benefits consultant is Worksite Advisors, LLC and Andrews & Murray Associates/Encharter Insurance. Voluntary benefits allow full and part-time employees to choose the types of coverage they want and pay for them through the convenience of payroll deduction. In fact, the implementation is seamless and all claims/benefits are handled directly with the employee. Voluntary benefits control the cost of fringe benefits provided for your employees as well as supplement existing employee benefits. A company's benefits program becomes stronger and enhances the corporate image, helping to attract and retain employees.

Insurance programs designed for the unique needs of today's technology businesses.

Since these benefits do not cost the employer and are free to provide, employers can easily offer these quality insurances to employees enabling them to purchase individual and family insurance at affordable ‘group' rates. CTC member employees are eligible to participate even for single proprietors, bypassing medical and physical underwriting requirements. Since coverage is portable the employee and their family have permanent protection. Below is a list of benefits that can be offered and be employee paid:

  • Dental Insurance : Each plan has a wellness benefit that includes a yearly exam and cleaning. Other benefits include X-rays, fillings, crowns and dentures.

  • Short/Long Term Disability : This important insurance protects an employee's most valuable asset – their paycheck. Employees continue to receive income even when disabled helping to pay mortgages, bills and other financial obligations.

  • Hospital (GAP) Insurance : Pays for employees hospital expenses. This is a low-cost solution for high hospitalization deductibles that many employers now choose for their employees' medical coverage including HSA's.

  • Cancer/Critical Illness Insurance : Protects the employee and their family against the high medical and rehabilitative costs associated with cancer treatment and other specified diseases.

  • Accident Insurance : Pays employees when injured off or on the job. This includes medical costs associated with specific injuries. This popular insurance even covers sicknesses and can also provide some income if the employee is unable to work for a few days or weeks.

  • Universal Life (UL) and Term Life Insurance : Protects mortgages, college education, funeral expenses and is great for young families. Many employees don't have permanent protection. Since these plans start as low as $4/week and are portable employees can easily protect themselves and their families, providing peace of mind.

  • Group Insurance : Any of the above insurances can be offered to all employees at a group rate and become part of the employer's benefits package. Although still paid by the employee, the company can easily offer this to new employees and existing employees at any time.
  • Personal Insurance : CTC offers a Group Automobile Insurance Discount Program designed for the employees of Connecticut Technology Council member companies. Through this special program, members will able to offer their employees a 10% group discount on their automobile insurance.
    1. Group discounts which can mean savings of hundreds of dollars for you and your employees.
