About the Celebration

The 2008 UHY LLP Tech Top 40 Awards Gala and Technology Showcase was held on 11/6/08.   Over 350 attendees gathered for an evening of networking and award presentations to CT's 40 fastest growing companies in six technology areas - for Software, IT Services, New Media/Internet, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy/ Environmental Technology (including green technologies) and Telecom.


The evening’s biggest announcement came at the end of the awards program, naming Ticket Software LLC as Connecticut’s fastest growing technology company in 2008. The Vernon-based company, Connecticut's answer to StubHub, grew at the impressive rate of 4828% over the last four years, adding staff and growing revenue at an impressive pace.

The Council also announced the six companies whose revenue put them at the top of their respective technology categories:

Advanced Manufacturing

Pelham Sloane - Fairfield
Manufacture sleek, thin computers primarily for the healthcare, hospitality and retail industries, Pelham Sloane’s products deliver space and energy efficiencies without sacrificing processing power or configuration flexibility.

  

Energy/Environmental Technologies

Clean Diesel Technologies - Stamford
Provides sustainable solutions to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency and lower the carbon intensity of on- and off-road engine applications. These solutions are in commercial use worldwide, helping manufacturers comply with more strict regulatory emissions and air quality standards.

Life Sciences

Alexion Pharmaceuticals - Cheshire
A biopharmaceutical company working to develop and deliver life-changing drug therapies for patients with serious medical conditions. Its successful first drug candidate, Soliris, was delivered to the American and European markets in 2007

Companies considered for this recognition were required to have at least $50,000 in revenue in the first year and $3M in revenue in the fourth year, with some of the public companies winning this year exceeding $1Billion in revenue. The list is made up primarily of privately held companies, but does include eleven public companies.
