Core Informatics of Branford, data management software developers, received a $17.5 Million venture investment from Oak HC/FT to add staff for cloud based product development and boost the expansion of its Platform for Science Marketplace. “Drug discovery, diagnostics, and other scientific domains are seeing tremendous transformation, yet the industry lags in supporting software solutions” said Andrew Adams, OAK HC/FT general partner. “Core is closing that gap to…improve patient outcomes and human health…” Josh Geballe, Core Informatics CEO said, “This capital will equip us to meet strong demand for our software solutions and enable more scientific organizations to get products to market more efficiently.” Core has tripled in size recently by providing solutions to automate laboratory workflows and collaborate with external partners. Read the full Press Release.

Comcast has announced that beginning in July, it has increased download speeds to internet customers across a number of its popular offerings. The bump in performance is in New England and the Mid-Atlantic states, and comes at no additional cost to customers.
