 2013 Connecticut Innovation Summit

Will pitch and exhibit before Angel and VC Investors at Seventh Annual event;

November 7 at the Toyota Oakdale Theater

HARTFORD, Conn. (October 16, 2013) – The Connecticut Technology Council has selected 76 Tech Companies to Watch to participate in the seventh annual Connecticut Innovation Summit.  These emerging and early stage technology firms have been identified as having the potential to become fast growing firms. The seventy-six were selected from a larger group of applicant companies, and most are recent start-ups and many are pre-revenue.

“This year’s Companies to Watch are an exciting and eclectic group. They represent a diverse group of early stage teams with great potential for growth and success,” said Matthew Nemerson, President & CEO of the Connecticut Technology Council, “I am always surprised at how our innovation ecosystem is creating an exciting class of new companies each year.”

The 2013 Connecticut Innovation Summit will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre on Thursday, November 7. The annual event, presented by the Angel Investor Forum, the Connecticut Technology Council, Crossroads Venture Group, CURE and CTNEXT, provides entrepreneurs, angels, venture investors, corporate business development executives, and business service providers an opportunity to network, while the selected firms receive an opportunity to meet mentors and potential partners and investors. The Connecticut Innovation Summit is expected to attract 400 attendees.

Innovation Summit features this year:

  • Mentor Meetings | Select entrepreneurs meet one-on-one with three tech mentors of their choosing — experts, investors, and serial entrepreneurs— to share their experiences, knowledge and expertise.
  • Funding Fair | Capital sources and entrepreneurial services including angels, VCs, investment bankers, lenders, family offices, government programs, private investors, incubators, and co-working spaces will offer tailored guidance and advice to attendees.
  • Pitch Fest | Each Tech Company to Watch delivers a three-minute pitch to a panel of judges. The top ten pitchers will compete at the Pitch-Off where audience vote determines the best of the best.
  • TCTW Expo | An opportunity for entrepreneurs to show off their companies and ideas to potential partners, customers, investors, and talent.
  • Connecticut’s Largest Tech Networking Event | The place for innovative, emerging, and disruptive companies, premier service providers, and elite technology leaders to meet, learn about and celebrate innovation.
  • Awards Ceremony | The next generation of high-growth companies in Connecticut and the region will be honored for their remarkable potential in five industry categories.
