The Connecticut Technology Council is excited to announce that our Keynote Speaker at the 2017 Women of Innovation® event will be Adda Birnir.
Adda is founder and CEO of Skillcrush, the country’s largest online education company focused on training women in technical topics, boasting an audience of over 250,000 women learning life-changing digital skills.
Before founding Skillcrush, Adda ran a web design and development company that built sites for media clients such as The New York Times, ProPublica, the Manhattan Neighborhood Network and MTV. She has been named one of the “20 Women to Watch in Media” by the Columbia Journalism Review, one of the “30 Most Important Women in Tech” by Business Insider, and has been featured on the BBC, PBS, Fast Company, and Mashable. She was recently appointed by Mayor Bill DeBlasio to the New York City Workforce Development board.
Adda is a graduate of Yale University and now calls New York City home. When not developing or teaching at Skillcrush, she enjoys exploring her home borough of Queens!
Skillcrush is the country’s largest online education company focused on training women in technical topics, boasting an audience of over 250,000 women actively learning life-changing digital skills. Their mission is simple: to empower their audience with the technical skills they need to enter high-earning and flexible careers. In particular, Skillcrush is focused on creating affordable and realistic on ramps into the technical fields for early to mid-career women who have no prior work or educational experience in computer science.
We are pleased to announce that Connecticut’s own Diane Smith will once again be Emcee for the evening’s festivities.
Register to attend today! We look forward to seeing you and your nominees on March 29!
