UConn Receives NSF Funding to Create ‘Accelerate UConn’ Program

UConn Cell & Genome Science BuildingUConn‘s Cell & Genome Sciences building will house Accelerate UConn, a new program for entrepreneurs and innovators that was recently awarded $300K by the National Science Foundation (NSF). This also designates UConn as an I-Corps Site (academic institutions that engage multiple, local teams in order to transfer technology to the business world.) Co-developed by Jeff Seemann, Vice President for Research, and Timothy Folta, Faculty Director of the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Accelerate UConn will help create businesses out of technology developed at UConn. Read the Hartford Business Journal article.
