Connecticut Technology Council's 2010 Marcum Tech Top 40 Winners
The CTC and Marcum bring attention to the innovation and economic growth of the state’s technology sector each year by recognizing the 40 fastest growing tech companies in Connecticut
The Connecticut Technology Council and Marcum LLP have announced the 2010 Marcum Tech Top 40, the annual list of the 40 fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut. Companies on the list are grouped into six technology verticals: Software, IT Services, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, New Media/Internet/Telecom and Energy/ Environmental Technologies and are evaluated on the basis of revenue growth over the last four years. Companies considered for this recognition had at least $3m in revenue, with some of 2010's winning public companies exceeding $1Billion.
The list is made up primarily of privately held companies, but also included thirteen public companies, including, among others: Priceline.com, FuelCell Energy and FactSet Research. Geographically, Fairfield County lead with 17 companies followed by Hartford County and New Haven County each with nine companies.
“We are committed to celebrating innovation among a diverse array of businesses in Connecticut,” said Anthony P. Scillia, Managing Partner of the New England Practice of Marcum LLP. “Marcum’s support of the technology sector is perfectly in-line with the Connecticut Technology Council’s mission of providing leadership in areas of policy advocacy, community building and assistance for growing companies. We hope to raise awareness for these 40 outstanding Connecticut businesses who have led by example for other technology companies.”
“Connecticut is proud of its innovation heritage. This list reinforces each year that the state’s tech sector continues to grow and prosper,” said Matthew Nemerson, President and CEO of the Connecticut Technology Council.
The Council and Marcum LLP honored the winning companies October 28 at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford. At the event, which also included a poster fair featuring the Marcum LLP Tech Top 40 companies, six category winners were announced, along with the company with the greatest percentage growth in revenue across all the technology verticals. CTC and Discover Video produced a streaming webcast of the awards ceremony.
This year’s event sponsors included: Marcum LLP, CNA Insurance, the law firm of Pullman & Comley, Webster Bank, Connecticut Innovations, McLaughlin, DelVecchio & Casey, The Pita Group, Robert Half Technology and Wellstone Insurance.
